The new Virtual Scouting tools introduced in UE 5.4 have been improved with the addition of a VR content browser, BP customizable gizmos and further polish increasing the customizability of the whole toolset.
With UE5.5, Virtual Scouting is considered Production Ready.
Users can now access a powerful out-of-the-box experience using OpenXR compatible HMDs (Oculus and Valve Index supported by default) and dev teams now have an extensive API for building custom tools and UX.
The legacy Virtual Scouting tools remain functional in UE5.5 but will be removed in UE5.6.
