Revitās Energy Analytical Model, comprising of Analytical Spaces and Surfaces is a fundamental requirement for accurate HVAC Loads/Sizing and Building Energy Analysis. Over the years a variety of methods and settings have been introduced into Revit to automatically generate these from given Architectural elements; from Conceptual Massing to Building Elements, Rooms and Spaces, working with or without linked files. Each of these methods and their associated settings support different ways of working, and yield different results in terms of geometric accuracy and precision. While these capabilities are very powerful users often get bogged down in knowing what mode, setting or other way of working is right for their goals. In order to address this, we will be working to provide clearer guidance on workflow options and settings that will help more common and targeted workflows/deliverables, like working at conceptual stages vs detailed design and documentation, with settings and workflows more tuned to support the requirements of each.
